Sea Pines

In 1956, Charles Fraser developed Sea Pines into the first private plantation community on the island. Sea Pines is one of the largest residential and resort plantations on Hilton Head spanning 5,200 acres. Within Sea Pines are 3839 homes and 2042 villas. Villa prices start in the low $300,000s and homes start in the high $400,000s. The community is most famous for its three championship golf courses, including the Harbour Town Golf Links, home of the PGA Tour's annual MCI Heritage. Sea Pines is also associated with the world-recognized Harbour Town Marina and its landmark red-and-white-striped lighthouse, built in 1969 to aid boats traveling on the Calibogue Sound. The marina hosts awe-inspiring yachts as large as 115 feet. Sea Pines has a lush, 605-acre forest preserve, access to five miles of Atlantic Ocean beaches, over 100 tennis courts, two security gates and numerous swimming pools. It is also the location of the South Beach Racquet Club, Sea Pines Racquet Club, Lawton Stables equestrian center, and restaurants and outdoor activities held at South Beach Marina Village.

Port Royal Village

Gorgeous near ocean villas, three golf courses, a tennis centre and a rich history characterize Port Royal Village Resort.

This is where the Yankees staged the largest Naval battle of the Civil war and established the Hilton Head link of the Southern blockade, effectively cutting off the export of goods to finance the Southern side of the war.

Now, Port Royal is all about golf, tennis, water and sun. Within the resort are three 18-hole golf courses. Planters Row was the site of the Hilton Head Seniors International Golf Tournament and rated one of Golf Reporter Magazine's top 50 courses in the Carolinas. The Robbers Row course was recently redesigned by Pete Dye. The Port Royal Racquet Club is listed by Tennis Magazine as one of the "50 greatest US Tennis Resorts," and it's is right next-door.

Within the Port Royal Village resort is a picnic area, restaurants, pools, walking and cycling paths, a new beach park playground, and a Westin Hotel. Nearby is Adventure Cove with miniature golf.

The luxury villas and condos near the water, which often serve as investment properties as well as vacation homes for the owners, have garden patios and balconies.

Port Royal is close to two large upscale grocery stores and shopping areas with boutiques, antiques and galleries. Fine dining is nearby and next door at The Westin. Also close by is the Hilton Head airport, and the Coastal Discovery Museum which conducts tours exploring the area's history, much of which is centered in the Port Royal area.
