For the benefit of our guests, We have arranged Free Tennis for many of our properties in Palmetto Dunes, Port Royal Village, Sea Pines, Shipyard and Forest Beach. Port Royal Village The Port Royal Racquet Club was ranked as one of the "Top 50 Greatest U.S. Tennis Resorts" by Tennis Magazine, been voted as one of the "Top 25 Tennis Resorts in the World" by Tennis Resorts Online and has received the coveted five stars by World Tennis for its award-winning tennis complex.
Set amid pines, maples, live oaks and the occasional magnolia; the 14-court Racquet Club is the premier tennis facility in South Carolina showcasing both Har-tru and hard clay surfaces.
From its opening in 1985, Port Royal Racquet Club has been host to the games legends and superstars, like Martina Navratilova, Steffi Graf, Tony Trabert and Stan Smith. The Club hosts about 50 groups a year ranging in size from as few as 4 to 80. Guests can stay nearby at the 412-room beachfront premier Westin Resort.
The Club features ten clay and four hard courts with stadium seating and lights for night matches. Confederate jasmines and other lush tropical vegetation set the backdrop for the full range of quality tennis programs with certified professionals and a friendly pro shop staff. The Pro Shop was voted one of the "Top Five Tennis Resort Pro Shops" by Tennis Buyers Guide.

Shipyard & Forest Beach Van Der Meer Tennis has two facilities located on Hilton Head Island available to our Academy students. They are approximately a mile and a half apart and both are situated in close proximity to the beach, shopping, restaurants, and accommodations. Van Der Meer Tennis Center on DeAllyon Avenue at the south end of the Island offers seventeen hard courts (four of which are covered and lighted). A full-service pro shop and certified stringer are available seven days a week. The Tennis Center is the primary training location for the Academy players. With the boarding facility located directly across the road, players have easy access to the courts. Frequently used for training runs, the beach is just a short stroll away.Van Der Meer Shipyard Racquet Club named by Tennis Magazine as one of the "50 Greatest U.S. Tennis Resorts," is located within Shipyard Plantation featuring thirteen (13) Har-Tru courts, seven (7)hard courts, and three (3)indoor lighted climate-controlled hard courts. It also has a full-service pro shop with a certified stringer and is open seven days a week. This facility is used to prepare Academy players for tournaments on a Har-Tru surface and for the rare inclement weather day. It is also home to the international tennis organization, the Professional Tennis Registry. |
